Bi publisher add parameters
Table 4-1 summarizes what is supported for each data set type. Other types of data sets may support all, none, or a subset of these features.
Bi publisher add parameters full#
SQL Query data sets support the full set of available parameter features. Support for parameters varies based on the data set type. For more information about the report-level settings, see the section "Configuring Parameter Settings for the Report" in Oracle Fusion Middleware Report Designer's Guide for Oracle Business Intelligence Publisher. Once you have defined the parameters in the data model, you can further configure how the parameters are displayed in the report as a report-level setting. If you’re also responsible for admin, then select Administration > Delivery and open a Destination Type, such as Email or FTP. You can only add a Destination if the BI Publisher Administrator has already defined a Destination Type. Note that the data type must also be "Date" and the format must be Java date format. This can seem a little confusing if you’re new to BI Publisher. See Section 4.4, "Adding Lists of Values."ĭate - the user selects a date as a parameter. To create a menu type parameter, define the list of values first then define the parameter and associate it to the list of values. This option supports multiple selections, a "Select All" option, and partial page refresh for cascading parameters. Ex: You can default the legal entity and hide it and create BI Reports for each legal entity and you can give access to end users by legal entity. A list of values can contain fixed data that you specify or the list can be created using a SQL query that is executed against any of the defined data sources. Menu - the user makes selections from a list of values. Text - the user enters a text string to pass as the parameter. To preserve the trailing zeros in your final report, you must apply a format mask in your template to display the zeroes.Adding parameters to a data model enables users to interact with data when they view reports.īI Publisher supports the following parameter types: When the data set is created, BI Publisher truncates all trailing zeros after the decimal point for numbers in all cases. If all tables in the Excel file are not named, only the data in the first table is recognized and fetched. If multiple tables exist in a single worksheet, the tables must be identified with a name for BI Publisher to recognize each one.The data type of the data in the table may be number, text, or date/time. The first row under the heading row must not be empty and is used to determine the column type of the table. In each table, Oracle BI Publisher always considers the first row to be the heading row for the table.A table is a block of data that is located in the continuous rows and columns of a sheet. Each worksheet can contain one or multiple tables. The source Excel file can contain a single sheet or multiple sheets.Save Microsoft Excel files in the Excel 97-2003 Workbook (*.xls) format by Microsoft Excel. The table name should start with BIP_ else those tables will not get recognized by the BIP data model.įinally the excel file should be saved with type as “ Excel 97-2003 Workbook(*.xls)” as other excel formats won’t work in BI Publisher. And then, add another section and add the BI Publisher Report using the 'BI Publisher Report' Dashboard Objects as shown below. Select the range of cells along with header row and click on Name Manager and click New and define a table name for the range. First add a section to the Dashboard page, and then drag and drop the dashboard prompts created earlier, which can be seen on the left pane.
